A life-changing perspective
Jill grew up in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. Early in her marriage, she survived a life-altering stroke caused by an arteriovenous malformation, or AVM.
Determined to turn the hardest time of her life into something positive, Jill came to view everything in life as a blessing—whether good or not so good. Learning to walk again as a young adult changed her perspective in a profound and precious way. She never allowed weakness on her left side to keep her from building a full life and raising a family.
Where curiosity meets storytelling
Always a prolific reader, Jill often kept at least two books open at once: a romance novel and a scientific journal.
After repeated rejections of her first manuscript, she refused to give up. Jill reworked the original story and added a splash of reality inspired by something she had read in Scientific American.
Melting glaciers in the Andes were revealing wrecked airplanes—and the remarkably preserved remains of people whose flights had crashed in the Bolivian mountains decades earlier. Fascinated, Jill made that discovery part of her rewritten story.
From inspiration to publication
She named the retooled novel Melting Glaciers, added a fictional New York crime family, black-market drug trafficking, romance, a rescued puppy, and a heroine scaling the snow-covered Andes to save the man she loves.
The new manuscript captured a publisher's interest, and Soul Mate Publishing released Jill's first book. Melting Hearts and Melting Lies followed. Jill continues the paranormal romantic suspense series under the name J. E. Prim.
More stories on the horizon
Between her paranormal romances, Jill wrote Invisibility Cloak under Jill Elaine Prim. Her first contemporary romantic suspense is set in a fictional Arizona border town and blends the dangers of a cartel with ideas drawn from physics.
Jill is also exploring sequels, Western historical themes, and science fiction. She firmly believes that love makes the world go round—and that fascinating real-world headlines can spark unforgettable fiction.
