Behind the Stories

Real life, remarkable readers, and unexpected discoveries often inspire Jill's stories. Sometimes the most meaningful inspiration is simply seeing a book in the hands of someone special.

A remarkable reader

One of my inspirations: Doris Brasure

Fellow readers, I had to share this wonderful photograph of Mrs. Doris Brasure reading my book Invisibility Cloak.

“You are never too old to enjoy an adventurous romantic suspense.”

Doris's husband of 62 years, Reverend Lloyd Brasure, was my pastor while I was growing up in the small town of Northville, Michigan.

Although Reverend Brasure had retired by the time I prepared to marry, he performed my wedding ceremony at Northville Presbyterian Church more than thirty-two years ago. Having him there meant so much to me.

I feel blessed to remain in contact with Doris today—a spunky senior who confidently navigates the web. Ah, the wonders of the internet!
